About the Project

This basement renovation in Glen Park, San Francisco, transformed a previously underutilized and poorly executed space into a highly functional and beautifully designed area. Lee & Co. was brought in to redo work previously done by another group, with the goal of maximizing every inch of the small basement space. Working in collaboration with Regan Baker Design, the project introduced custom storage solutions and creative design elements that elevated the basement’s functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Bedroom with a wood slat accent wall, built-in storage, and a large window that overlooks a terraced outdoor area. The bed has patterned linens, adding a soft contrast to the wooden elements.

The basement had undergone prior renovations that didn’t meet the homeowners' needs or standards. The primary challenge was making the most of a very limited basement space. Lee & Co. focused on maximizing storage and optimizing the layout to create a functional living area without compromising on design. Custom cabinetry was designed to make the most of every nook and cranny. One clever use of space was the custom drawers built into the wall behind the stairs, which maximized storage without taking up valuable floor space. To add texture and a modern touch, custom slat walls were incorporated into the design.

Bright bathroom with a glass-enclosed shower, white and blue geometric tile backsplash, and wood vanity. A round mirror and modern sconce lighting complete the fresh, stylish design.
