About the Project

Located in the heart of Hayes Valley, this coworking space renovation was commissioned by a venture capitalists firm. They sought a complete revitalization of their office space to create a dynamic environment that catered to both public collaboration and private, intimate meetings. Lee & Co. was tasked with delivering a series of flexible meeting spaces, custom features, and a modern design—all within a tight timeline. The goal was to provide an open, airy atmosphere while ensuring the space remained functional for high-level business operations.

Sophisticated meeting room with a large marble table, black leather chairs, a contemporary chandelier, and a scenic framed print on the wall.

To address the need for private meeting spaces without disrupting the open floor plan, Lee & Co. designed custom phone booths. These booths provided quiet, intimate spaces for phone calls and smaller meetings while maintaining the overall flow and openness of the workspace. Upstairs, the design included a retreat space for more focused work, offering a calming escape from the bustling office environment. Although the original request was for frameless glass doors, Lee & Co. offered a cost-effective alternative that maintained the desired aesthetic while saving the client money. The glass doors provided the transparency needed to keep the space open and light-filled without compromising privacy. The result was a sleek, modern coworking space that met the functional demands of a venture capital firm while offering an inviting, collaborative environment.
