About the Project

Located on a steep slope in Belvedere, an island in San Francisco Bay, this kitchen remodel presented both unique opportunities and challenges. The homeowners sought to increase the footprint of the kitchen and remove walls to take full advantage of the breathtaking Bay views, with the goal of creating a space ideal for entertaining. Working closely with Mark Reilly Architecture, Lee & Co. crafted a modern, expansive kitchen featuring innovative design solutions that enhanced the functionality of the space while honoring the home's existing aesthetic.

Traditional living room with light wooden beams, a black fireplace, cozy seating, and a mix of modern art and vintage decor. Large windows provide a view of the surrounding landscape, enhancing the room’s warmth and elegance.

One of the standout design features is the floating sink cabinet that sits in front of the full-height window. This innovative solution not only creates a striking visual but also maximizes the use of natural light and enhances the kitchen’s open feel. A shelf spanning the full width of the window adds both form and function, providing extra storage without obstructing the view or light. A large kitchen island was added to create a central hub for entertaining. Designed with ample seating, the island offers both functionality and a gathering place for guests, making it ideal for hosting. To maintain continuity with the rest of the house, Lee & Co. carefully sourced gray wood to match the existing woodwork throughout the home. This attention to detail ensured the kitchen felt like a natural extension of the original design.

Cozy dining room featuring a rustic wooden dresser, a contemporary painting, and a window with a scenic view. The table and chairs are visible through an arched entryway, adding depth and character to the space.
