Lower Haight

A revitalized Victorian exterior and natural wood interior harmonize old and new.

About the Project

A transformative renovation of a 1500-square-foot Victorian jewel box in the heart of San Francisco’s Lower Haight. Originally built at the turn of the century, the home had a unique charm, but the space was limited and lacked modern functionality.

Lee & Co. worked closely with the client and Mark Reilly Architecture to not only restore the architectural beauty of the home but also increase its square footage by 50%, creating a master suite, roof deck, and kitchen addition.

The renovation highlighted high-quality materials such as vertical grain fir, Ipe decking, soapstone countertops, and custom skylights. Thoughtful details like reclaimed wood for the staircase and a switched privacy glass in the master bathroom further personalized the space. The result was a harmonious blend of restored architectural beauty and modern functionality, delivering a spacious, light-filled home that celebrated the Victorian legacy while meeting the client’s needs.

Absolutely amazing to work with. Super responsive and accommodating, and provided excellent ideas and custom craftsmanship. I just simply couldn’t be happier with the final results of our complete interior remodel.
